Transport to Ameland

By car, motorcycle or bicycle you can reach Holwerd via Leeuwarden - Stiens or via Groningen - Dokkum. You have the choice to take the car to the island or you may use the parking lot near the ferry in Holwerd. For more information about parking please call 0900 9238. The car park is open from 30 minutes before arrival of the first boat to 15 minutes after departure of the last boat. For parking you pay 5 euros per day.

By train or bus to Ameland

If you travel by public transport, you can plan the trip via the website 9292.nl. If you come by train, you travel via bus station Leeuwarden to Holwerd. You can easily plan the train journey via the NS Travel Planner.

By ferry to Ameland
